Worldbuilding
Welcome to the lands of Westwind and Kaida. A lot of the stuff I write about is derived from hobbies of mine. Here's a list of some of the things I like to do and how I incorporate them into my books :)

Fire!
One of my favorite things to do is play with fire. Currently, I dabble in fire staff and fire fan, while occasionally lighting myself on fire. The first time I use firespinning in my novels is the fist chapter of The Best of Luck. While Westwind is the primary location in the novel, there are several regions surrounding it that have varying atmospheres.
In a place called Everburn, people live in harmony with fire. They are immune to its heat, a trait those living in Westwind do not have. However, knights of Westwind often travel to different lands when aid is needed, so a group of knights from Everburn make the journey to Westwind to demonstrate unique ways to handle and be friends with fire in case Everburn ever requires their assistance.
Wall Trampoline
Wall trampoline is definitely one of my favorite things to play on. Basically you get a trampoline, you get a wall, you put them together and there you have it. Although, wall trampolines are generally a lot bouncier than the average backyard trampoline. I've definitely gone flying a couple times.
I know it's been done a bit, but I just LOVE the idea of bouncy mushrooms. To spice it up a little, in Kaleidoscope, my characters encounter bouncy mushrooms that grow on the sides of giant trees and down in deep fissures in the earth. This way, they can use the bouncy mushrooms as if they were wall trampolines. They bounce on the mushrooms on their backs and their feet run up the sides of the trees. Doing this, they can travel either up or down the trees. And they can do some cool tricks, too.
